Our History

1993

Pike County Hospice was established. It was created as another community program by the Pike County Health Department & Home Health staff and board. This was the first and only Hospice founded right here in Pike County.

2001

The Home Care & Hospice Foundation was created to help our not-for-profit organization fill the financial gaps between the agency’s income and costs, with an overall objective to provide high quality hospice and home health care to every area citizen regardless of ability to pay. Thanks to the generosity of thousands within our communities, our foundation has been able to lift financial burdens that terminal illness sometimes creates for patients, families and loved ones. These gifts have been used to help pay household bills and costs incurred for travel, and made it possible for families to spend the quality of time they deserve with their loved ones.

2017

In 2017 we were able to make a courtesy expansion into our surrounding counties of Audrain, Lincoln, Montgomery and Ralls. This was exciting for us as we are a rural area, we often have patients requesting our services, but lived just outside of the Pike County line. Since our expansion was made possible we are excited to be able to serve more of our communities.

2018

In 2018 we celebrate 25 years of service and unveil the new look of Pike County Hospice. Until today, our brand has been shared with the Health Department and Home Health programs and has served our communities greatly. We are so proud of our Hospice program that we want our image to better reflect our compassionate and outstanding service, we are now very excited to present a this new look!
